This is South Africa

This post is super super overdue! Sorry! I've been so busy in SA with family and friends that I kept pushing my blog to one side.. But finally I'm back and ready to show you all what I've been up to; a personal post about how I've spent my time so far in sunny south Africa.

For anyone who doesn't know, me and my parents are spending a month visiting my sister and nephew. They live just below Cape Town in a village called Kommetjie - famous for it's surfing spot Long Beach. This is my second South African Christmas/ new year, and I wouldn't change it for the world; 32 degrees on Christmas day 100% beats an English Christmas.

Fish Hoek is defo my fave beach in SA, so I convinced the family to have breakfast there the day after we arrived! Syrupy waffle with ice-cream + chocachino = heaven. Everywhere you look in SA is either mountains or sea. (Or both!)

The first few days we spent on the beach, seeing dad's old friends and eating out a lot! Over here they have Marcel's frozen yogurt, which is literally amazing! So we had to do a trip to the mall to get our fix - Nougat fro-yo with fudge crumble!

We then spent a day at Imhoff Farm, where I could have held a snake - obviously never going to happen! But instead got to pet all the bunnies and rode a camel (Random I know). This is my nephew Aya btw; by far the cutest guy ever.

After our first week we did a road trip to Montagu, where we're currently staying at Avalon Springs - a natural hot springs resort. I never expected it to be as insane as it is, we have a mountain chalet with a private jacuzzi, BBQ and sun lounger area. Why would I want to spend Christmas any other way??

This is the private pool for people staying at the resort, it's around 37 degrees (not even the hottest one) and has a cocktail bar right next to it - perfect. Separated by a fence are 5 more pools which day visitors are allowed to use, plus a waterslide going down the mountain side.

Obviously I had to include a cheeky leg selfie! I'm having the best time ever with my family, and I hope everyone else is feeling the same! I was very lucky to get my Reading festival 2015 ticket bought for me as my main present; so I have to thank my number 1 reader,  my mum, and of course my dad.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Odds & Sorts brand ambassador

I was super lucky to be chosen as a brand ambassador for the cutest jewelry company - Odds & Sorts. The fact a company was so interested in my blog and aspirations is honestly such a great feeling!

Receiving a handwritten note with packages is extremely sweet -  I think this is a fab idea to build relationships with customers when you run an online store. The little box is really delicate, and I will defo be storing my bracelets in it!

I was also lucky enough to be able to choose 2 of the charms I received (the elephant & mirror). Elephants are my fave animal ever and this one is so dainty and lovely! My best friend Flo encouraged me to get the mirror, cheeky hint at wanting to borrow it probably, and shock it came in pink - the colour she is obsessed with! Have a feeling she may try steal it!

The umbrella charm was a complete surprise and is so pretty! All the colour cords I got are some of my fave colours to (bonus), and look perfect layered together or worn separately.

All their products are beautiful and really different to what's available on the high street; they would make a great gift, or a treat for yourself! So I can't stress enough how much you should check out their website!

Quick update

Just a really quick update for everyone because i'm SUPER excited; I got all 3 interviews at Solent uni after a day of sending my application!! So a massive thanks to everyone who motivated me to start blogging and really push to make my aspirations happen! Obviously this is only the first step, but I couldn't wait to share the news with everyone - and hopefully get at least one offer!

Propercorn review

When it comes to fashion, what you eat is just as important as what you wear. I am defo guilty of binge eating WAY too much. Popcorn has to be one of my favorite snacks, but it can be surprisingly healthy! I tend to buy supermarket's own brand of popcorn, due to the price, but now i've tried Propercorn I don't think I could switch back!

When mum bought us a bag of Propercorn's sweet coconut and vanilla popcorn to share, I was hooked! I instantly messaged them about my blog and explained that I would love to work with them and review their products (Obviously for some cheeky snacks). And I was super excited when I heard back!

When I came home to this I was definitely surprised, I expected a small package with a bag or 2.. But when I opened the box I found a super cute note and 5 bags of their different flavours - including my fave pink bag!

All the flavours are so fab, and some are really different to your traditional flavours!

I was really excited to try their lightly salted flavour as it's what I used to eat all the time before I discovered sweet & salt. The best thing about theirs is the amount of seasoning; it's got plenty, but isn't overpowering! This is defo a good pick for anyone who loves their traditional popcorn!

Next was a flavour I had never heard of, and honestly was quite nervous to try! I'm not a fan of worcester sauce, or tomatoes tbh, but I was pleasantly surprised when my parents opened this bag to share! Again, the seasoning was perfect, exactly the right amount, and you could easily make out the flavours. A fab choice for people who love a more savoury snack!

Similar to the last pack, I had never heard of this flavour before, but was pretty excited to try it as I love most things which taste of orange! (Mum also couldn't wait due to her love of ginger.) I think you need quite an acquired taste to appreciate this flavour, but I 100% recommend you to try it! It's super festive and honestly one of the nicest popcorns I've tasted!

Next was my fave flavour! I always buy sweet & salt if I get popcorn, I love how well the contrasting flavours go together, and it's the perfect snack for any time of day! With all Propercorn's packs, i've noticed their flavours are super strong- something I usually complain about with supermarket brands. Everyone has been raving about this flavour recently and I know why, it's probably still one of my fave flavours, but nothing could compete with the last bag...

I absolutely adore coconut and vanilla flavours/scents, so when mum bought us a pack of this I was amazed that she had found something with a combination of both! Defo super happy when I saw it in my package! A lot of people I know really don't like coconut, but I honestly recommend trying this, neither of the flavours are too strong, and the texture of the popcorn is fab!

The low of calories in each bag make it a guilt free snack! Who could turn down that? They honestly have a flavour for everyone!

I have seen the brand in most supermarkets and boots stores, so it's really easy to get your hands on! Next time you're trying to find something new to try make sure it's a bag of Propercorn (Or 2)!
